About Me (she/her)

As the driving force behind SHEcon, Sheila has pioneered an innovative approach to construction by collaborating with the industry's top contractors to bring diverse teams to complex projects. Holding an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from DePaul University, she started her firm in 2020 to uplift the values of diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the construction industry. In 2023, she was named a finalist for the Illinois Real Estate Journal's 'Champion of Diversity' awards and she continues to act as a diversity manager on some of Chicago's most high-profile projects in the downtown market. Having grown up in the industry, she started out working for her families' general contracting firm where she is 3rd generation leadership.

Sheila believes that the construction industry requires greater collaboration and innovation to work smarter, not harder. Her most recent collaborations have included construction projects with notable team members such as Tishman Speyer, Clune Construction, CBRE, Builder's Vision and other fortune 500 companies. She continues to focus on intentional growth for her company and has focused on national construction capabilities in commercial, healthcare and industrial markets. Sheila is on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Self Storage Association, a networking group that helps her build and develop her own personal real estate portfolio. She also contributes personally to the Goldie Initiative, a non-profit that has a scholarship and mentorship program that uplifts women pursuing careers in commercial real estate. As a Goldie alum, she treasures mentorship and is committed to giving back to the industry.
